NEW PROGRAMS
2006 Great Decisions Program
Frank Kendrick and Mary Jane Baron, ACWA Board Members, are co-chairing a committee to bring the Great Decisions program to Akron, under the
sponsorship of the ACWA.
The Great Decisions program is designed for people who want to inform themselves on global
issues. The format is a discussion group led by Frank Kendrick who has
led other Great Decisions groups over the years. To participate, one does not
have to be an ACWA member.
The 2006 Great Decisions Issues
The following issues have been selected for the 2006 program:
- The UN: Post-Summit Outlook
- Dealing with Iran
- Energy Policy Conundrum
- Brazil: Invented Pasts and Hoped-for Futures
- India and China: Competition & Cooperation
- Human Rights in the Age of Terrorism
- Turkey: On Europe's Verge
- Pandemics and National Security
Great Decisions - A Program of the Foreign Policy Association
The Foreign Policy Association (FPA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring the American public
to learn more about the world. Founded in 1918, FPA provides independent
publications, programs and forums to increase public awareness of, and foster
popular participation in, matters relating to those policy issues. FPA is a
member of the World Affairs Councils of America (WACA) and Great Decisions is
one of the Flagship Programs of WACA. For more information on FPA, go to

Meeting Location
The meetings will be held at Chambrel At Montrose located at 100 Brookmont Road,
Montrose, OH.
Cost to Participate
The charge to participate in the Great Decisions program will be minimal. The Great Decisions briefing book costs $15. There
will also be a nominal charge for refreshments.
