TRADE PROGRAM
Australia Marketing Strategies
REGISTER NOW
Australia’s economic success and commitments provide expanded opportunities for Ohio companies. Ohio
exports to Australia in 2007 were more than $683 million. Australia is in its 17th year of uninterrupted
economic growth.
Kevin Rudd, its Prime Minister, elected in a landslide in fall 2007, is recognized for his
astuteness in expanding relationships with Asian countries, both in trade and politics. At the same time, Mr.
Rudd is working to establish a strong alliance between the U.S. and Asian nations. Australia is predicted to
further grow as an important hub in the region although it has challenges on the supply side.
Mr. Stuart will
outline these as well as take questions related to its harbours, infrastructure, labor and education, as relevant to
Ohio export goals.
ACWA's trade program is in four parts:
- A review of practical considerations in deciding to explore product export or expand present exports to Australia, including ways to access related U.S. Commercial Services programs.
- How to access the services of the U.S. Export
Assistance Center - U.S. Department of Commerce to
support your export goals.
- A review of trade mission goals, what participation can
provide, and guidelines for choosing those appropriate
to your goals.
- ACWA's special guest, Mr. David Stuart, is Deputy Chief of Mission of the Australian embassy in
Washington D.C.
He will provide perspective on Australia, not only directly related to trade but the factors
influencing it.
Mr. Stuart will provide a brief synopsis of his formal presentation at ACWA’s evening event on
Thursday, October 23, 2008, with emphasis on factors related to trade.
Who Should Attend: Any manufacturer or service provider that would like an overview of U.S. Commercial Services that support export and/or want updating on investment opportunities.
