Andreas Krüger

Mr.
Krüger joined the German Diplomatic Service in 1983 after studying history in Bochum, Germany, and Glasgow, Scotland. He first worked
succesfully on establishing Bonn, West Germany's former capital, as a seat
for international organizations. He then served in Shanghai, China, where
German industry has invested heavily in the growing Chinese economy.
Returning to Germany, he first served as desk officer for the political
relations to Poland, Hungary and Slovenia during the process of the
enlargement of the European Union. He was subsequentally elected to serve as
employees representative in the Foreign Office.
Since 2004, Mr. Krüger
has been posted to the political department of the German Embassy in Washington,
D.C. He focuses on strategic questions of American foreign policy,
bilateral relations between Germany and the U.S., and U.S. domestic
issues. He is also responsible for outreach to the American Jewish
community.
In his spare time, Mr. Krüger
loves to travel in the U.S. and tries to learn as much as possible about
American history. He is very interested in music, ranging from classical to
jazz and beyond.
